Kate -- I never let Hobbes out after we moved here, though most cats survive quite well.
In previous places, I simply left the sliding door open just enough that he and the other cats could go in and out at will. I learned that when I was out, they would generally stay inside, and fussed about access only when I was home!

Haha. I like how the corner of the blind is raised. Another cat peering out perhaps?
Int -- I like to think it's the owner, crouching fearfully on the floor, waiting for retribution from the big hungry cat when he does get in....
I really wish we could put Tokyo outside, but I see way too many dead cats on the road. Besides, she'd play the in-out, in-out game all day!

Barq goes on the balcony when I go for a smoke, and occasionally slips out into the hall way, but he's inside, fuss free most of the time.
my Shila is an indoor cat... kinda hard to let her out on the 8th floor.....
They may be ignoring because they have a 140 lb. dog inside!
