A stormy day...

...at a local beach. It wasn't terribly cold, but the air was definitely refreshing.

Though only a few spatters of rain reached here, the storm generated some fairly spectacular waves...

Made even more dramatic by the breakwater they were crashing into...

Though this gull has apparently seen it all and didn't show much interest...

On the beach itself, a sandpiper(?) was running up and down as the tide came in and went out, almost as if playing to an audience...

Which, in fact, it was! I hope that photog's images turned out better than mine...

It was a wonderful way to spend a few hours.

And there will be a few more photos later on.

Little salt water spray in the air and beachiness is a good cure for much, especially if you have some company along braving the chill.

I love to go to the coast when there are big waves, and I would have gone last week. But the storm caused most roads to the coast to close. Something about downed trees and/or power lines, so we didn't attempt it.
