You might be wondering why...

...I've called you all here.

I will begin by admitting it was done under false pretenses.

I'm not going to write a damn thing about what I'm thinking. I've tried, believe me; I've deleted three entries before finishing them. And that was only in the last hour. I had a rich lineup of headliners: Nancy Pelosi, Anna Nicole Smith and astronaut Lisa Marie Nowak, plus a supporting cast of thousands.

Hundreds, anyway. Well, dozens....

To be precise, the entry that came closest to making it to completion mentioned four other names.

Instead, I have decided to mention no names tonight.

Nothing has changed, except that my understanding of what goes on around me has diminished, if that's possible. My view of humanity in general has, if possible, continued to worsen.

Those things are bad enough to dissuade me from saying anything.

Good night.

I'm dropping by because I was in the neighborhood, not because you called :-) I have been so busy with JS, DA and other assorted internet thngs that I haven't been here in several days.

It is good that you still walk about and share your finds with us, whether they be flora, fauna or ferrous.

The world is a mean ol' place, Scribbs, and at times I wish you could be meaner along with it.

I'm sad a bit, too.... I also wait for calls and answers to emails.... ahem.

I noticed it was only names of women you posted.... and in two cases the cause behind their biggest troubles were the men in their lives! Good thing I'm not good at ranting....

Somehow I don't think the entry was angling at how men are so cruel to women.

It appears to work both ways. Perspective dictates which is highlighted I guess.

It is not easy to graduate from the School of Knocks alive or in one piece.
