...again.
Just talked to the travel agent for a business trip I have to take. In order to arrive at my destination in time, I have to take a flight leaving L.A. at 6:15. In the morning. With a plane change in Chi-freekin'-cago.
And my destination? Daytime temps are predicted to be in the low 100s, most likely with humidity to match. And I will be outdoors, in direct sun, for most of a whole day.
They don't pay me enough for this.
No surprise, since "they" don't pay me enough for the work I do at home.
Here endeth this morning's whine.

So where ya goin? Huh? Huh?
Good to get out of town. Besides, you can't count on weather forecasts except those from AlGore.
It will be good.
Int -- I will be in North Carolina for a while, but mainly in Virginia.
John -- Never thought of asking Big Al about the weather. He'd probably just tell me "the planet's burning up" or something like it.
The trip gives me a chance to lay down some big carbon footprints, though....
Consider yourself lucky, my flight tomorrow leaves at 6:05am!
Just a tip: It has been out-of-control at the airport every morning since school let out. It is at it's worst between the hours of 4:30am and 7:45am. The lines are crazy.
(However I will admit that we are labeled the "Beast of the East", we are the busiest airline at our airport.)
If you happened to not give yourself enough time and you do happen to miss your flight. Please do not tell the gate agent that Security was the cause!!!! Because she will know that there are over a hundred people on your plane that went thru that line and you are the only one that missed it!
If you happened to have a breeze getting through, count your blessing, sit down, read the paper and have some coffee :D
Also...enjoy your time on the Eastcoast! Eastcoast rules baby!
Oh, and bring lots of fabric hankies to wipe the sweat off your brow! It is goin' be hot and humid!
Thanks for the tips, JF!
My plan is to be in line at 4:30....
I would LOVE to take a trip to N. Carolina & get paid for it! even if they don't pay much, it is such a blessing to have a job where you're sent on a trip! that's fantastic!!!!
Well, i am also assuming your flights are paid for.... Are they?
As for the weather, however: eeek... I dunno about that. Are you allowed to get naked? Just strip down and get naked. And carry a spray bottle with you and keep spraying yourself down with water. Yeah... that should do it.....
:-)
Love Hugs and AlooooHa!
KF -- yup, the tickets, hotels, meals, etc., etc. are all paid for. The motto in my profession is "Eat Free or Die."
Given the people I'll be with, I have absolutely no intention of getting naked out there....
That's just too darn early and too darn hot......not that SoCal is any better right now. 5:00 pm and it's still a sweltering 95 outside. The wizards of weather say it's going to be even hotter over the next couple of days. Hope you enjoy this trip
kashew -- at least here at home in SoCal I can stay indoors. With fans running.
North Carolina should be pretty nice - compared to South Carolina anyway. I will be heading up to Montreal on Saturday but I got my flight at a more reasonable hour, thank goodness.
