A dry day.

Very dry, in fact: the water has been off in my building for hours, and there is no estimate so far as to when it will be back on.

What was that old saying? "I was unhappy because I had no soap, until I met a man who had no water?

Yeah. Something like that.

It could be worse. The cat drinks bottled water, and I showered early today. Even so, it makes one notice how many times in a day hands need to be washed and other natural functions associated with water use need to be performed.

At least I can steal some of Hobbes's water to make a pot of tea; I need to have a cuppa in hand before getting back to work.

Abi gezunt.

That would be terrible, Scribbs! I wash my hands a zillion times a day. Why is your water off? Hope it's fixed soon! **hugs**

Sally -- the official word is that there's a leaking water pipe "somewhere." When it is found and fixed, we get water. Maybe.

It's amazing what we take for granted UNTIL we don't have it any more. Hopefully you'll be a flushing maniac again soon. :)

Oh, I thought maybe Mr. Beam had gone walkabout. Water, water everywhere, and none of it suitably mixed...

I hope things get corrected soon.
Good thing Hobbes likes to share.

Do you steal Hobbes water before or after you put it in his bowl? :)

justfly -- I learned long ago not to get in between a vicious jungle beast and his water bowl or food dish!

They called the other day and told us our water was going to be off for about 6 hours while they fixed something. They said fill up your bathtub and keep drinking water, etc..I didn't realize how hard it was without a faucet!

Betty -- no one told me! I didn't find out the water was off until a, well, inappropriate moment....

Doesn't it drive you nuts to be in an area surrounded by water, yet there is a shortage? That always seem a pity to me in Miami.
