One last Kustom Kar...

...from Sunday's show.

This one illustrates what someone who is (a) a hot rodder and (b) a vintage military airplane fanatic does when he has the remains of a late-1950s Hillman station wagon, a pile of tubing, an old Chevy engine and a bunch of leftover aircract hardware....

The radiator shell is home-made and, of course, the body has been separated from its top...

As a former Hillman owner, I thought I recognized it (faintly) from this angle, but I still had to ask to be sure...

The dashboard is Hillman; the top of the steering wheel has been cut off to look like a plane's control wheel, the seats and seat belts came from various pensioned-off aircraft, as did the "cupholders"....

A little rough around the edges, perhaps, and O.D. isn't my favorite paint color, but the guy obviously had a lot of fun building it!

I think it's rather cool. Just the thing for driving to Tim's and picking up a dozen wirrdux.

And if it had wings, maybe it would pttpwzk. On second thought, no...nothing could get off the ground with that big lump o' cast-iron Stovebolt Six under the hood....

In a car that light, a Stovebolt Six should make it go like a scared mlafckw.

Yeah, dal, but it does seem a little flimsy...I think any passenger would ypmwx their pants if the guy drove it too fast.
