A parenthetical photo...

...for my buddy dal, who appears to have more fondness for tractors than racing cars...

There were two Porsche tractors at the event. The one in the previous entry, called the "Junior," was a small piece, probably most suitable for small farms. Prosperous German (and Brazilian, by the way) farmers could buy a larger, more powerful version. You can see part of the "Junior" behind it.

The front wheel design will be familiar to owners of early Porsches. And VW Beetles, too....

Nice looking tractor.
Sounds like an interesting trip. Some surprises, perhaps?

John -- one surprise, but nothing to do with tractors or race cars.

The cars and tractors were a lot of fun, though.

The Porsche tractor had a hydraulic coupling between the engine and transmission, and Ferdi had on paper at least, a design for four wheel drive. What I think is coolest, the diesel engine is air cooled.

I just had to look this up :-)
www.porsche-diesel.com has some interesting facts about them.
