One foot in front of the other...

...as I resumed my get-Scrib's-ugly-butt-in-shape program, walking three miles after two lethargic, wasted days.

It's a beautiful, picture-postcard kind of day: sunny, cloudless, warmer...

But on my way back from the 1.5 mile turnaround, I decided to explore one of the walkways that leads downhill, away from the street. Squint at that first picture (or, better still, click on it to enlarge), and you can see the path.... I ended up looking back at the point from which photo #1 was taken, but maybe 50-75 feet below the road...

There, I found a little bit of paradise, a picnic area nestled into the cliffside...

Another stairway led from there down another 30-50 feet to the water's edge, but I decided to save it for tomorrow's walk...

And headed, past all the familiar local spots, back to the pad...

I'm feeling much better today. Except for the occasional mild episode of nasal drainage, quite normal, in fact.

A pot of green tea is capping the morning off quite nicely, thank you.

Now that is the kind of walk that I could enjoy. Love the picture of the older car.

Oh wow, I can only dream about being somewhere that I could see places like this! It would be Heaven. :)
Glad you're taking care of yourself and walking. :)

John -- the "Red Man Hall" is something of a local landmark. I should read up on it. All I really know is that legend has it the building was once a library before it became a wigwam.

The car looks completely in place in front of that building.

I guess if I had scenery as nice as yours I might get out and walk more. That's just an excuse, really, but traffic lights do interrupt the flow...

dal -- One of the nice things about the daily walk route is that I only have to cross one street to do the whole four miles.

I heard the car coming (thanks goodness for glass-pack mufflers!) and waiting 'til it was in the field to shoot. Lowriders are always picturesque.

From what you've showed us of your "ghetto" by the sea, I'd say it looks like a pretty nice "ghetto". Neat old cars, the Pacific just blocks away, caring neighbors, a great hospital nearby...sounds like a darned nice place. (If it really isn't, please just let me enjoy my illusion, ok?)

You live in a beautiful place. It looks like a great walk. All of our water edges in swamp mud. That looks so clean and cool.
