I guess no news is good news. Sometimes.
The phillips head screws make me think it may have been placed well after the non event.
l&s -- down the street a half-block.
HO'F -- doggone it, you made me look up the history of Phillips-head screws and, yes, you're quite right. By about 35 years. The house the plaque is in front of was built in the early 1900s, so I'm sure the information shown here is correct.
Today is the 150th anniversary of Jan 29, 1857. Just thought you should know.

And, more important, it's the 110th anniversary of January 29, 1897, the year nothing happened....
Of ourse some did make and hang a sign about it ...probably not on that day!
