...as yet another day goes by in a kind of blur that has nothing to do with artificial mood-altering items.
It was a nothing day. It seems boring and repetitive to say no money came in and no responses were received regarding numerous inquiries about work, but that's how it was.
What bothers me more than a little is that I felt nothing when I thought about my rapidly deteriorating situation today. No anger, no resolve to do something -- as if, at this point, there is anything I can do -- or anything of the sort. All I feel is a kind of resignation (mixed with a little curiosity) about what happens next.
One way or another, this miserable situation must come to an end, and soon. Right now the chances of a positive outcome aren't looking good.

I want a blur day! Please, please, please?
Went to pick up my minuscule paycheck for having worked retail on Easter Sunday...when I was told we would be closed, then they changed it, it was a zoo, didn't want to be there...and they forgot to issue my check.
Went home.
Later prepared to take my daughter to work and we were locked IN our house. The lock failed. In the locked position! Exited through the cellar. Can't afford a new doorknob/lock and will have to borrow the money to replace it. Emailed the manufacturer last night expressing my disappointment in their product. Waiting to hear how customer loyal they are.
I'm having a helluva time finding work, but at least I picked up a few extra shifts at the store.
I hope your pay comes in!
Dude,
I just found you through Joan Perry's blog, and I am shocked at how un-shocked I am to read your travails.... my household is currently celebrating my new success at work at the same time as my husband is finding brick wall after brick wall in his search for employment after being laid off months ago.
Everyone I know (and everyone I don't know, apparently) is going through the same bullshit.... while the government keeps on spouting "it's not that bad".
Yes, it IS that bad.
Sorry to hear your plight, hope things get better for you. Keep on trying.
Stop by my blog if you want a little change of scenery.
Cheers,
M

I drove up about a week or two ago. Times are tough but Scrib looked good. I have faith things will be OK.
Not an easy time.
Thanks Harpo. Good to hear.
Every time I read Low and Slow's posts with the pix of the cars in it, I hope he is looking at them.
