One of the largest -- and coolest -- car clubs in the South Bay got together at the park on Sunday to have a barbecue. They set up piñatas and a "bouncy castle" for the kids and cooked up a mess of fine-smelling food.
Naturally, they all showed up in their shiny coches...
Except for this lone '55 Packard (which still got the low-rider treatment), they all brought their Chevvies...
I don't know if I dug this cool '49 Sedan Delivery (complete with metal sunshade over the windshield) the most...
...or this sharp '54 with Powerglide and spinners...
...or one of these fine, fine pre-war caruchas...
Couldn't hang around long enough to decide. Just sniffing all that BBQ was making me hon-greeee!

Hey! My folks had one of those Chevies like that one when I was growing up!
Sounds like you had a great time there,
and that tan one looks like a Bonnie and Clyde car!
Very nice photographs.
We had a '55 black plymouth when I was little girl.

You didn't try to sell some carbon offsets?
It is encouraging to see it is still legal to cook out in CA. I thought it had been outlawed.
john -- These guys probably spewed out less carbon than one Al Gore airport-to-speaking-engagement motorcade.
Some things are still legal in CA. Not many, but some....
Very nice...

Cool cars!

It's a tough choice between the '54 and the sedan delivery.
Got any Metropolitans?
Car candy! Yummy!
