In the wind...

...but it's impossible to tell if this is merely decoration meant to add an Old West flavor to the area or a working water pump. The vanes do spin in the breeze, anyway....

My guess is that it does nothing. Couldn't see any shafts, chains or even wires connecting the vanes to anything. Seems like a shame....

But it sure makes for a gorgeous photograph.

That it does, "mag," and it reminds me again how grateful I am to have had a camera to capture it!

This is a "Texas" photo I tell you!! What an awesome shot. One of my favorite subjects and I like how you present it in b/w.

Where did you find that? Great pic, Ray!

Sally -- it's about a mile from here. One of the good things about walking is having time to notice what's around....

I love to walk. I just don't like walking by myself. It is so good for you though. Have you been to downtown Plano? It is so old timey. You could get some great pics there! Have Betty take you if she hasn't already...

Sally -- got to the outskirts of downtown a couple of days ago. That's where I got the photo of the truck posted below.

Have to go the extra mile, so to speak....

There are some of those around here, too, most in poorer shape, and none of them do anything anymore. Now I'm going to have to keep an eye out for them...
