Last night...

...a thick, low-level fog drifted across the harbor. It was one of the strangest sights I've seen while living here. The glow from the lights on the docks was downright eerie.

Ran back home for my camera and, inevitably, missed capturing the most spectacular stage of the fog's transit across the docks and cranes...

There are some sights a camera simply cannot capture. This was one of them.

But hey, I tried.

Very cool shot- it almost looks like aliens are landing.

That is always the case- what the eye sees the camera can never quite do justice. I have that often.

*hugs*

It's still a neat shot.

sometimes I just don't bother taking a picture because, like you said, the eye sees it better. But that shot does look cool...

still a nice shot! but i know what you mean about "missing a spectacular shot" sometimes i get so excited that my hands are shaking like crazy and the intensity gets so bad that i lose the shot completely though i'm clicking like a bat out of hell.

It's an added challenge at night, but you bring home so good ones. I've never experienced the sort of fog SoCal has to offer anywhere else. Here, you often get to see the top of it as well as the thick of it.

It's nice to catch-up with you. I've missed you.
