Not going to go for the details...

...but I had a look at myself in the mirror after taking a shower today, and I'm lookin' pretty darn ugly.

Not the usual ugly, but I'm still covered with odd bruises, scrapes, welts and, worst of all, a zillion little circles and rectangles of left-behind adhesive that doesn't seem to want to scrub away. There's a patch or two of missing body hair as well.

It's not as if women have ever lined up for a chance to behold me in glorious living nudity, but I'm feeling like 10th Prize in the "Date the Swamp Thing's Exact Lookalike" contest.

Oh, yeah. I shaved my beard off within an hour of getting home from the hospital the other day. Until I get enough sun to blend in some patches that hadn't seen light for some three decades, I have an odd simian appearance about the mouth and chin.

It was a symbolic thing, if you care. I decided the guy who died on Feb. 29 was the bearded one. Weird, I know.

Nice move. A nice refreshing change. I think it is a great idea. You can always grow it back if you don't like it! *hugs* T

Of course women were lined up! They just had syringes, tubes and bedpans in theirs hands :)) You didn't scare them off either luckily.

  9. Natalia -- apart from the razor nicks, little blood spots and occasional missed whiskers, yeah, it's pretty cool.

In a week or so, I may have my shaving chops back up.

  15. The beard... my dad has had a full beard for all of my life. I remember the one time he shaved it off. What was left was the skin that time forgot! And he had a double chin which we'd never noticed under that beard.... After subjecting himself to the ridicule of us kids, he grew it back, quick-smart!

PS: To get rid of the adhesive stuff on your skin, try a moisturising lotion, or any oil-based substance. Massage it in, then use a towel to wipe it off (or any cloth that has a rough texture). It works for me when I have bits of wax stuck to my skin after hair removal (don't ask).
